Boat cruise in Myanmar (Burma) on the Irrawaddy, Chindwin river and at sea.


What a dream !
A cruise in the famous irrawaddy river in Myanmar, from Bagan to Mandalay, and Bamo up in the foothill of the Himalayas.
There is more and more opportunity to travel by boat in Myanmar. Very recently a new line open to Mergui Island. We will post soon new information.


Special note for Mandalay - Bagan cruise - daily cruise (5 March 2010).

2008 and 2009 have been bad tourist season, so much that most of the cruise between Mandalay and Bagan (the daily cruise) have been cancelled. For Shwekennery and Malikha boat, it is becoming very difficult to forecast when they sail or not.
Even this year (2010), with quite a lot of tourist in February, the boats where not sailing every day.
You can expect almost no boat for the dry season (middle of March to May).
For the rainy season and next winter it is impossible to forecast, please contact us to know (if we know) if the boats are salling or not.


- Amara Cruise : Very nice cruise with small teak boat (only 7 cabins) from Mandalay to Bagan or Bhamo.
Amara cruise has two nice traditional Myanmar river boat made with teak wood. There is only 7 cabins but all confort and security. The boat can go upstream to Bhamo until march.
It is a very nice way to discover Myanmar, with a friendly, charming small boat.

- Delta Queen : All cruise from / to Yangon and from /to Pathein have been cancelled until further notice.
We have no information for the 2009-2010 tourist season, until now it is not schedule to resume the cruise to Pathein for the Delta Queen.
Starting from Yangon to Pathein or from Pathein to Yangon. 1 night cruise in the mounth of the Irrawaddy river. The transfert to or from Ngwe Saung beach is included in the price of the cruise. Here

- Malikha River Cruise
Since many months, the "daily" boat between Mandalay and Bagan has been cancelled because of the lack of tourist. Malikha River Cruise (the company which is operating the boat between Mandalay and Bagan) has no regular planning, you can expect no boat for the dry season.
At today (march 2010), we do not know when the boat will sail, and if it will sail for the next season.

- Road to Mandalay :
All cruise have been cancelled until August 2009 due to the lack of tourist.
Cruises will resume after August 2009 and are confirmed for 2010, please follow the link below for updated cruise schedule (5 May 2009) and public prices.
