Choose your hotel in Hpa An - Myanmar - Burma ?

Hpan-an is a nice, charming city located north of Mawlamyiang in the Kayen state. The countryside is really beautiful, looking like south China or norht Vietnam.
It is really a nice quiet place to visit. .

You can reach Hpan-An by car from Yangon or Mawlamyaing (Moulein), but the best option is to take the public boat from Mawlamyaing to Hpa-An. It is a 5-6 hours cruise, very relaxing (boat is very very simple), you will enjoy the sunset on the countryside, it is really relaxing.

From Hpa-an, you can visit Buddhist cave, walk in the countryside and if you have a lot of energy climb the famous Mount Shwekabin (better to start early in the morning, the walk way is not under the sun....) it is a least a 2 hours walk to climb (1h30 to go down).

Currently it is not possible to continue upstream, the area is under strict security control, one day probably...

Parami hotel

Best hotel in Hpa-An (down town), it is clean, professional, deluxe rooms are big and confortable. It is quite expensive for Myanmar (like all hotels in Hpan-an), but if you want to be down town and you have the budget, this is the best option (otherwise check the Zwekabin hotel).

Tiger hotel

The hotel is located very close to the Jetty for the boat arriving from Mawlamyaing (2 mm walks), it is a modern hotel, rooms with windows (mostly facing wes) are acceptables, they are clean, with light (hot..), acceptable bathroom but the rooms said "with air con" are without windows, along a corridor inside the hotel, we clearly not recommend these rooms.
Breakfast is not included, overall, expensive hotel, with some rooms really not nice (check before), far to be our favorite hotel in Hpan An.

Zwekabin hotel

New hotel just opened in 2010 located 5 minutes away from Hpa-an "down town" on the road of the Mount Zwekagin. Surrounding is nice, nice countryside (the garden of the hotel needs to grow...)
Rooms are brand new, well designed, confortables, quality price ratio is very good.
The only incovenient is you are a little far from the city, so you need a car if you want to have a diner in Hpa An, or a evening walk in Hpa An (nothing special to see by the way at night in Hpa An).
If you have a car, and you like a confortable, new hotel, it is a very good choice, with very good room and a nice surrounding.
