Choose and book your hotel in Yangon - Burma - Myanmar-

You have a wide choice of hotel and guest house or even dormitory in Yangon. You can find everything from few dollars to the famous and chic Strand hotel (public price 400 USD), but you can also easily pay too much for a small hotel, or get a better deal for the same price.

In your are looking for a charming hotel, with a tropical colonial ambiance, the choice is limited in Yangon, and you will have to choose in 3stars, 4stars and luxury category. There is no small, cheap charming hotels.

Governor's residence : (ex pansea hotel). The colonial tropical house has you may imagine it. Super house in teak, huge quiet garden middle of Yangon. This is THE charming tropical hotel in Yangon. Rooms are correct (not very good, except the new renovated governor's house, the hotel has now a "peak season" price in Novembre that makes the rooms at a quite expensive price.

The Strand : famous hotel from the Bristish period, no garden, no swimming, prices are much reasonnable than previously, a very good hotel(as loong as garden and swimming are not important for you).

Savoy : A small 4 stars hotel located not so far from Shwedagon Pagoda. It does have the garden and charm of the Governor's (from outisde) but inside it is very good hotel, rooms are big, very well decorated, very good service and prices are very reasonnable. It is a very recommandable choice.


Kandawgyi : It is a 3 stars only, bigger than Strand, Pansea or Savoy. The hotel is located along the Kandawgyi lake and very close to the Shwedagon Pagoda. Garden and swimming pools give a very nice atmosphere, very fresh, rooms are good (nothing to compare with the other hotel) but quite cheap hotel.
Suites are big, good with a very reasonnable price.
A very good choice is this category.

Hotel Chatrium (Ex Nikko Hotel)

An excellent hotel situated close to the Kandawgyi lake. Many restaurants, gym, very beautiful swimming pool, good room. A very good hotel. Good service.

Savoy

Categoy : 4 stars
An excellent small 4 stars hotel located near the Shwedagon pagoda (from the outside bar you have a nice view on the pagoda). Most of the rooms are facing the big swimming (it is more quiet), rooms are very well decorated, very well maintained. It is a very good 4 stars hotel.

Summit Parkview hotel

Category : 3 stars
A little cold atmosphere (at first sight), very correct bedroom, big swimming pool, gym club. Even if it is not a colonial style hotel the quality price ratio is extremely good, you have roof top bar with a stunning view on Shwedagon. A very good choice for this quality and price.
Since two years, the Summit has one of the best restaurant in Yangon (Bago bistro).

Panorama hotel

Category : 2 stars, down town hotel
Very clean, room very correct, really very kind staff, always full (this is a good criteria). Not very far from the train station and from the Aung San market . In this category, our favorite hotel but not charmning at all, it is modern building, downtown. Agood choice anyway in this type of hotel.
