Choose your hotel or Resort at Inle Lake in Myanmar ( Burma)

The main question at Inle it is to decide if you want to stay in a piloti hotel, or on shore. (prices are totally different, atmosphere also). Weather - climate reminder. It is cold or very cold at Inle Lake in November, December and January. You can have 5 to 10 C° in the morning and at night. It is really better to keep a warm clothe with you, especially for early morning departure by boat... with the wind it is freezing. Many hotels do not have heater in their rooms... it is usually very very cold in the room at night. Sun block cream. Elevation is 1300 meter and you will spend your day on the lake = sun burn 100% garanty so do not forget a hat and a sun block cream. Booking. Usually (2007 & 2008 were no good)) it is quite difficult to find a room in : - November - Xmas- new Year. - February. Especially if you are looking for a good hotel such as Inle Princess, Inle Lake View, Inle Resort, Treasure and even the Amazing in Nyaung Shwe, you should book as early as possible. At today (may 2009) bookings for the next season seems quiet at inle Lake (novembre start to look more booked anyway), it is probable that the Xmas period and November will be finally booked. Golden Island Cottage Category : 3 stars hotel Localisation : Middle of Inle Lake The 2 Golden Island Cottage hotels are managed by the Pao ethnic group. The rooms are more than correct and the ambiance is indeed superb. You are in the middle of the Inle lake, in a bamboo house and you can see the sunset on the lake from your balcony.
Inle Lake View Resort Category : 4 stars hotel, luxe Localisation : west shore of the Inle Lake, Luxury hotel the west side of the Inle Lake, direct access to the Lake via a private pier, the rooms are absolutely superb (46 and 70 m2), balcony, excellent French restaurant. Suites offert a lot for the price and the hotel has now two superb villa on the shore, very close to the lake. A very good and very confortable hotel (especially in winter)..
Inle Princess Resort Category : 4 stars hotel. Localisation :East shore of the Inle Lake, Superb luxury and charming hotel, direct access to the lake from the hotel, very beautiful restaurant directly on the lake and view on the sunset (west view). We recommend to take the rooms with direct view on the lake (the chalet are huge). Service is very friendly, the most charming hotel of the lake. Rooms start to need a little renovation but it is still a very very good place, no doubt.
Paradise Hotel - Lac Inle Category : 3 stars hotel Localisation : Middle of the lake towards Phaung Daw Oo pagoda Nice hotel. A little to close to the main boat road to the pagoda, so it could be a little noisy in the morning. Rooms are quiet cheap for an hotel on the lake. A good choice for this price and quality.
Shwe InTha - Lac Inle Category : 3 stars hotel Localisation : Middle on the lake Very nice hotel, more quiet than the Paradise hotel. Close to the pagoda anyway (5 minutes by boat). Rooms are very confortable, wood, bamboo, cooton, balcony, took the Deluxe room if you can.. It is a little far south of the lake (1 hour boat from Nyaung Shwe) and could be a little noisy (close to the main waterway), a good choice anyway.
